Building Asian-American Solidarity

Phi Delta Sigma

As freshmen, a group of us founded an Asian-American fraternity at Brown. Our goal was to build a brotherhood of Asian-Americans that can use this fraternity as a vehicle to shed light on issues of Asian-American identity in the Brown community.

However, identity is unique to both the individual and the collective. If we were to use FDS as a vehicle to shed light on these issues, then they would be presented within the context of the greater greek life ideology and the risk our messaged being biased by those ideals.

And yet, as students without the institutional support and a collective banner, how loud can our individual voices be? More importantly, how much tangible change can we really enact?

On hiatus as of Spring 2017.
